Dr Choen Yin (Helen) Chan is an ESRC Postdoctoral Fellow at the Manchester Institute of Education (MIE), University of Manchester. She completed her PhD in Education at the University of Manchester. Alongside her doctoral research, she worked as a Senior Tutor in MIE, teaching and supervising students on undergraduate and postgraduate education degrees. Her research interests lie in intercultural communication and education, with a focus on migrant families and intergenerational relationships. She works closely with local Chinese charities in Manchester that support migrant families. Her research aims to develop understandings of migrant family experiences and generate positive social impact through public engagement and research dissemination activities in community languages.
