Chris Burden is a PhD Candidate at Aston University, with a background in French and German Studies and International Relations. His PhD focuses on the utilisation of queered approaches beyond the study of sexuality, using these perspectives to reveal a deconstruction of presumed binaries within political discourses. With specific interest in populism as it is manifested in the United Kingdom, France, and Germany, he assesses diverse populisms, seeking to coproduce shared, consented insights into the phenomena he studies, rather than applying fixed, traditional academic approaches. Such queered insights reveal new perspectives that were present but unexplored within the findings of previous research, presenting new grounds for the reconceptualising of populism.
