PhD candidate in Social Justice at the University of Wales Trinity Saint David
Isadora Canela is a PhD candidate in Social Justice at the University of Wales Trinity Saint David, working at the intersection between arts, environment, and education. Her focus is on narrative transformation through creative and collective practices. In 2024 she was awarded a scholarship to study Public Narratives at Harvard Kennedy School, and in 2025 she was selected to be part of the first UNESCO Youth for Peace cohort. An artist and curator, her practice draws on participatory practices involving local and international communities, both human and more-than-human, to trial ways in which ecologies of collaborations can emerge. Currently, she lives in the mined mountains of Brumadinho, Minas Gerais, Brazil, and both her research and practice are deeply influenced by the relationship with post-traumatic territories.
