Dr Kit Catterson is the Senior Writer within Plan International’s CEO Office and was the previous Research Manager for the Real Choices, Real Lives study, having led its strategic direction and management. She holds a PhD in International Relations from the University of Sydney, with her research using feminist and poststructuralist approaches to explore the activist movement to end female genital mutilation in Somaliland. Kit has more than twelve years’ experience working for international development and humanitarian organisations focusing on girls’ rights, gender equality, gender-based violence, and sexual and reproductive health and rights.
